Dixie State University Gains Commitment from Futures Qualifier Danyael Cuison
NEW COMMIT: Las Vegas, Nevada native and talented butterflyer Danyael Cuison has announced her commitment to Dixie State University and will arrive on campus in the fall of 2020.
She told Swimming World:
“I am proud to announce my commitment to Dixie State University! I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who supported me until now. I can’t wait to take this next step this fall!”
Cuison does her club swimming with Sandpipers of Nevada and most recently earned a pair of best times and placed 10th in the 200 fly at the TYR Desert Committee Championships in February. Last summer, she registered five lifetime bests at Far Westerns where she finaled in the 100m fly.
Her best times include:
- 50 fly – 26.47
- 100 fly – 57.00
- 200 fly – 2:10.74
Also competing for Sierra Vista High School, Cuison was the 100 fly runner-up during her junior season at the Nevada 3A/4A State Championships.
She will make an immediate impact both individually and on medley relays when she suits up for Dixie State as a member of the class of 2024. Under head coach Tamber McAllister, the Trailblazers finished third overall in the team standings at the 2020 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships.
