Distance Freestyler Burak Iloglu Sends 2026 Verbal To Yale
NEW COMMIT: Mountainside, New Jersey native and Junior National qualifier Burak Iloglu has pledged his verbal commitment* to Yale University starting in Fall 2026.
He told Swimming World:
“I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Yale. Yale is the perfect place for me to get a world-class education and represent Türkiye in swimming moving forward. I would like to thank Mom, Dad, Ali, Anneanne, and the rest of my family and friends for making this dream come true. I would also like to thank Coach Tom for pushing me to get to where I am today. I am very thankful for this opportunity and I can’t wait to work with the Yale swimming coaching staff. Go bulldogs!”
A distance freestyler, Iloglu represents Türkiye internationally. He earned four top-18 finishes at the Türkiye National Team Selection Meet in December.
Iloglu does his club swimming with Scarlet Aquatics, most recently placing 15th in the mile at Juniors East last month. He raced three events at Junior Nationals this past summer.
His best times include:
- 200 free – 1:40.20
- 500 free – 4:30.55
- 1000 free – 9:17.55
- 1650 free – 15:28.61
The Bulldogs finished third at the 2024 Ivy League Men’s Championships.
