DirecTV Finally Adds WatchESPN – Swim Fans Rejoice
PHOENIX – In a move that will gain a hearty cheer from many swim fans, DirecTV has finally added WatchESPN access for its more than 20 million subscribers.
According to several media outlets, including Variety, DirecTV finally activated access to all of the Disney and ABC digital-video services including WatchESPN.
DirecTV swim fans, particularly those that care about the NCAA Championships, have voice frustration with the lack of access since back when ESPN3 first took over online live streaming of the meet from SwimmingWorld.TV’s first broadcasts of the men’s and women’s meets.
Swimming World was proud to be an integral part of helping the world see the top NCAA meet each year prior to ESPN stepping up to take the broadcast to another level. And, with DirecTV’s activation for its members, that process finally comes full circle.
WatchESPN has grown past just webcasting the NCAA Division I meets, to know hosting a large amount of the college and other divisional championship events.
This is a boon for the sport as even more swim fans will have a chance to watch some incredibly fast swims.
To access WatchESPN, DirecTV customers can log in via WatchESPN.com on their computers for live access to ESPN networks, or via apps on Apple’s iTunes App Store, Google Play Store, Amazon Appstore or Windows Store. WatchESPN live programming and on-demand clips are also available on Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
Great, now get ’em to carry Pac-12 network ( I can get Big Ten/SEC and Longhorn networks but NOT you know who!) and also get ’em to carry DODGERS!
