PHOENIX, Ariz. July 21. GARY Hall JR. is the oldest male swimmer since 1924 to represent the USA in the Olympic Games.
Gary, who will turn 30 on September 26th (born 9-26-74), replaces Josh Davis who, at 28, was previously the oldest male swimmer to compete for the USA in modern times.
The 2004 US Olympic Team has two other 28 year-old men: Lenny Krayzelburg and Jason Lezak.
All these guys, however, need to grow a few gray hairs before they can top the oldest US male Olympioc swimmer ever. Duke Kahanamoku was 33 years, 331 days when he won his last Olympic gold medal in 1924.
