Déjà Vu All Over Again: Girls’ Bracket Begins Today at 2018 USA Water Polo Junior Olympics
Today begins Part Two of the world’s largest water polo tournament, otherwise known as the 2018 USA Water Polo National Junior Olympics, as the girls get underway at 7am at multiple pools around the San Jose region.
Approximately 360 teams will play 1,464 matches between today and Sunday, July 29 in two different divisions; Championship (the top level of qualification from JO regional competition) and Classic (second-tier competition). There’s also a 10U coed division consisting of 48 teams; this is the only coed competition at JOs.
Multiple finals will be held on Sunday; for the Championship and Classic divisions, as two champions are crowned in each division: a Platinum winner for top bracket of teams as determined by pool play, and a Gold winner for the next bracket of teams.
