Mackenzie Stumpf has verbally committed to Dartmouth College. She swims for Tampa Bay Aquatics and is a strong breaststroker.
Her club team wrote, “She started her swim career with the Countryside Dolphin summer program and holds multiple Dolphin age group records.” Stumpf has progressed significantly from her summer league days, swimming the 100 and 200 breaststrokes at Olympic Trials this summer.
Her best yards times are:
- 100 Breast 1:03.75
- 200 Breast 2:18.44
- 200 IM 2:02.56
- 200 Back 2:02.59
The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American attends Tarpon Springs High School. At the 2015 Florida 2A High School State Championships she was the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM runner up. In 2014 she finished third in both events.
At the Ivy League Championships last year Stumpf would have been a 100 breaststroke B finalist and Dartmouth’s top finisher. Freshman Megan Crook (1:04.93) was a C finalist in the 100 last year. In the 200, Stumpf would have landed in the middle of the B final. Dartmouth was led by freshman Amber Zimmerman (2:19.34) last year.
Tampa Bay Aquatics shared on Facebook,
“We are so very proud of Mackenzie!! She is a great role model exhibiting all the TBAY Championship behaviors that make her a champion inside and out. We all wish her the very best for the future. GO TBAY NATION!!”
