DART Swimming’s Sydney Turner Will Be a Hoosier With 2021 Verbal to Indiana
NEW COMMIT: Indiana University has picked up a new verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Sacramento, Calif. native Sydney Turner.
She will join Brearna Crawford, Kabria Chapman, Elyse Heiser, Anna Peoplowski and Mariah Denigan in Bloomington as a member of the Hoosiers’ class of 2025.
Turner, who swims year-round with DART Swimming, is a versatile swimmer who most recently earned three best times at College Station Sectionals after competing on two relays at Juniors West. Last summer, she placed 16th in the 200m fly at Mount Hood Futures.
Her best times include:
- 100 fly – 56.35
- 200 fly – 2:05.17
- 200 IM – 2:05.19
- 400 IM – 4:29.95
- 100 free – 51.80
A rising senior at Sacramento Country Day High School, Turner is a four-time CIF San Joaquin Section Championship finalist. She raced to fourth in the 200 IM and sixth in the 100 fly as a sophomore while taking seventh and 11th, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.
