Cal’s Daniel Carr finished 17th in the 100 back prelims at the men’s NCAA championships in 45.45, but he will receive an opportunity to re-swim the race after the first round of 3-meter diving prelims.
Video of the race shows that Carr, swimming in lane one, when his backstroke start platform was NOT taken out of the water before his turn, as is customary. In the video below, Durden can be seen seen yelling at the volunteer responsible for Carr’s lane after the sophomore slipped on his turn.
More to come after the re-swim is complete.
