Michigan Women and the Texas Men are ranked number one in the January Top 25 CSCAA Poll based on dual meets.
The Wolverines earned the top spot for the first time this season in the CSCAA poll. They started January with a win at the Orange Bowl Classic, followed-up with impressive victories against Big Ten foes (#15) Indiana and (#18) Ohio State. Cal took the six remaining top votes from the committee but dropped one spot to number 2, only 3 points behind Michigan. NC State moved from sixth to third this month. Tennessee and Stanford remain in the top five at fourth and fifth, respectively.
After three straight wins against Iowa, Illinois and Northwestern Notre Dame women jump into the poll at 12th. LSU had a big win against SEC opponent (#12) Missouri which helped earn them the 17th ranking. Princeton makes their debut in the poll this season at 22nd and Florida State is back in at 25th after not being ranked the last two months.
On the men’s side, it was unanimous among the committee: Texas, California and Michigan are once again first, second and third. Indiana moves up one spot to fourth and Texas A&M moves down one spot to fifth.
The men’s CSCAA poll includes five newcomers: Northwestern (21), Louisiana State (22), Denver (23), Georgia Tech (24) and Kentucky (25). LSU, Denver, Georgia Tech and Kentucky all received votes last month.
