Courtney Bartholomew Captures Natalie Coughlin’s 100 Back American Record

USA’s Courtney Bartholomew has had a career meet, including an American record in the women’s 100-meter back at the 2015 Duel in the Pool.
Bartholomew, a Swimming World college intern, blasted a loaded finale with a winning time of 55.92. That swim broke the American record of 55.97 set by Natalie Coughlin back in 2011.
Bartholomew vaulted to sixth all time with that swim.
Mie Nielsen finished second for the Euros with a time of 56.20, while USA’s Claire Adams took third in 56.45.
Euro’s Katinka Hosszu had a surprising fourth-place time of 57.62 with Euro’s Lauren Quigley (57.74) and USA’s Missy Franklin (58.84) also swimming in the heat.
