Countryside YMCA’s Liz Jantausch Will Stay Local; Sends Verbal Commitment to Cincinnati Bearcats
NEW COMMIT: The University of Cincinnati has earned a new in-state verbal commitment for the 2020-21 season and beyond from Liz Jantausch of Liberty Township, Ohio.
Jantausch does her club swimming with Countryside YMCA and most recently earned a trio of best times at TYR Summer Senior Championships where her highest finish was a 12th-place showing in the 400m IM. She earned 100% best times at YMCA Nationals in April en route to placing 16th in the 200 IM. Also competing for Lakota East High School, Jantausch placed 12th in the 200 IM at the Ohio State Championships during her junior season.
She told Swimming World:
“I chose UC because of it academics and great swim team. I want to thank my family, friends and coaches for supporting me. I can’t wait to be a part of the Bearcat family.”
Her best times include:
- 200 IM – 2:04.63
- 400 IM – 4:29.72
- 100 fly – 56.70
- 100 free – 53.14
Jantausch will make an immediate impact in the Bearcats’ IM training group when she arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2024. She would’ve scored in the B-final of both IMs at the 2019 American Athletic Conference Championships where Cincinnati finished second overall in the team standings.
