Columbia University Lands Another Breaststroker: Lindsay Rispoli

NEW COMMIT: Breaststroker Lindsay Rispoli has given the Columbia University Lions another verbal commitment for the Class of 2022. She joins Yanran Le and Madison Leblanc, also breaststrokers, in giving verbal commitments. Also verbally committed to the Class of 2022 are Mary Pruden and Cleopatra Lim.
Rispoli is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and a senior at The Pingry School. From New Providence, New Jersey, she trains with Berkeley Aquatic Club.
She told Swimming World about her decision,
“I am so excited to join such an amazing program with a motivated team and dedicated coaches! I can’t wait to be a lion and to further my education at Columbia! I am so grateful for everyone who has helped me get here.”
Rispoli’s best times are:
- 100 Breast 1:04.47
- 200 Breast 2:17.07
- 400 IM 4:31.44
- 200 IM 2:09.68
Rispoli dropped three seconds in the 200 breaststroke and a second and a half in the 100 breaststroke from the 2015-2016 season to last season. At the 2017 Ivy League Championships Rispoli’s best times would have been good for 19th in the 100 breaststroke and tenth in the 200 breaststroke. Helen Wojdylo was the Lions’ leading breaststroker last year, touching ninth in the 200 breast (2:16.73) and fifth (1:02.15) in the 100 breaststroke.
