Colorado Time Systems Announces Patent On Non-Slip AquaGrip Touchpads
Loveland, CO – Colorado Time Systems, Inc. announced the award of a U.S. patent for its AquaGrip touchpads. The patent, number 5,702,799, entitled, “Slip Resistant Texture For Wet Skin Contact Surfaces” was issued on December 30, 1997 by the United States Patent Office and covers the use, manufacturing and distribution of the AquaGrip (or similar) texture on touchpads used in competitive swimming events.
“AquaGrip touchpads are the only touchpads available that provide a virtually slip-free surface for competitive swimmers,” comments Bret Jacomet, Vice President of Colorado Time Systems, Inc. “Swimmers can count on getting a fair start every time from an AquaGrip pad; No other touchpad can match the effectiveness and gripping ability of the AquaGrip texture.”
“I first used AquaGrip touchpads at the men’s NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas in 1996. The texture is incredible. It provides a non-slip surface, enabling me to focus on my race and not whether I’ll slip on the start,” states Ryan Berube, 1996 NCAA Champion, men’s 100 and 200 yard backstroke and 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist.
