RallySport Aquatic Club’s Brittney Beetcher has given her verbal commitment to the University of Buffalo. The distance swimmer will be a big help to the Bulls.

She told Swimming World,

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Buffalo! The people at UB are amazing including the team, coaches & support staff and made Buffalo the best choice for me. Becoming part of their family atmosphere is exactly what will make competing for the Bulls so fun!”

At the 2016 Colorado 5A State Championships Beetcher led Fairview High School to the state title while winning the 200 (1:51.07) and 500 (4:56.57) freestyles.

This summer she swam the 400, 800, and 1500 freestyles at Junior Nationals.

Her best short course yards times are:

  • 200 free : 1:49.68
  • 500 free: 4:50.24
  • 1000 free: 9:58.74
  • 1650 free: 16:39.71
  • 200 fly: 2:01.34
  • 400 IM: 4:19.75

The Bulls finished fourth at the 2016 Mid-American Conference Championships. Beetcher could give the team a big boost. In the 500 freestyle and 400 IM, her best times would have made her the runner up. Her best 1650 time would have finished third. The Bulls took the top two spots in that event. Runner up Hannah Miller will be a junior when Beetcher starts next fall. Across those three events, that would be 40 points for Buffalo, which was only 23.5 points behind third place Bowling Green State University.
