Coleen Gillilan Leads Notre Dame in Taking Three of Four ACC Weekly Honors
Notre Dame earned three of the four ACC Weekly Honors, via women’s swimmer of the week Coleen Gillilan and divers Austin Flaute and Kelly Straub, announced Tuesday.
Gillilan paced the Irish’s win over Louisville, unranked Notre Dame upsetting the No. 14 Cardinals. Gillilan, a sophomore, won three events in the meet, taking the 100 butterfly, 200 fly and 200 individual medley. She also swam butterfly on the runner-up 200 medley relay.
Straub won both diving events against Louisville, the senior scoring 325.20 points on the one-meter springboard and 282.30 I three-meter competition.
Flaute notched a pair of top-two finishes for Notre Dame against Louisville. The junior won the one-meter by tallying 311.03 points and was the runner-up on three-meter with a score of 312.45.
The honors are Notre Dame’s first ACC Weekly Honors of the season.
Louisville’s Nicolas Albiero was named the men’s swimmer of the week. In the No. 13 Cardinals’ win over Notre Dame, the senior won the 100 fly and 200 fly and swam on victorious relays in the 200 medley and 400 free.
