Coaches Corner: Maintaining and Correcting Body Position and Stability; Try a Tennis Ball

We are back with another installment of Coaches Corner, a regular feature in Swimming World where coaches from a variety of levels – elite, club, college, Masters and high school – will weigh in on topics related to the sport. In some instances, coaches will discuss technique and drills that are used in the training of their athletes. On occasion, the topic will focus on the mental side of the sport. The goal is to provide a recurring opportunity for fellow coaches and swimmers to enhance their understanding of the sport in some way.

In today’s edition of Coaches Corner, Andrew Sheaff is back to discuss the importance of body position and stability. Sheaff discusses some of the errors that are made by swimmers when they lose body position or stability, and he offers ideas for how to remedy these issues – including via the use of a tennis ball or lacrosse ball.

Click on the video below to hear what Sheaff has to say about maintaining/correcting body position and stability.
