Claire Eisele of Fox Valley Wave Swim Team Hands New Mexico Verbal Commitment
NEW COMMIT: The University of New Mexico has scored their first verbal commitment for the 2020-21 season from Appleton, Wisc. native Claire Eisele.
A talented freestyler, Eisele swims year-round with Fox Valley Wave Swim Team and most recently earned three best times at the Wisconsin LCM Championships after racing four events at Minneapolis Sectionals this past summer. Last winter, she recorded four top-20 finishes at the Wisconsin SCY Championships before going on to race six events at NCSAs.
Also competing for Neenah High School, Eisele is a five-time Wisconsin DI State Championship finalist. She finished 10th in the 100 free and 18th in the 200 free as a junior after placing 12th in the 50 free and 15th in the 100 free during her sophomore season.
She told Swimming World:
“I am very excited to continue my academic and swimming career at UNM because I absolutely love the team, the coaches, the atmosphere, as well as the school! Go Lobos!”
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 24.13
- 100 free – 52.51
- 200 free – 1:54.06
- 500 free – 5:09.49
Although she’s just shy of scoring range at the Mountain West Championships, she has continuously made improvements each season and will be a valuable addition to the Lobos both individually and on relays.
