Circle C Boys Set Three National Age Group Relay Records Set at Kerr-McGee ProAm
OKLAHOMA CITY, December 30. THREE U.S. National Age Group Relay Records were set at the Kerr-McGee Elite proAm meet in Oklahoma city a week ago.
In the men's 400 yard medley relay, the Circle C "B" relay team consisting of Daniel Rohelder (backstroke, 16), Jerr Merritt (breaststroke, 15), Rob McFarland (butterfly, 16) and Maverick Smalley (freestyle, 15) set a new 15-16 boys National Age Group record with a time of 3:27.85.
The old record of 3:28.64 was set in 1986 by The Woodlands Swim Team of Thibault, Bailey, Bartee, and Cornman set in 86 with a time of 3:28.64.
In the men's 200 freestyle relay, the Circle C "A" team consisting of Garrett Webber-Gale (17), Will Sarosdy (17), Caleb McDermott (17), and Adam Preston (18) set a new 17-18 boys National Age Group record with a time of 1:22.89. The old record, 1:22.91, was set by the Marin Pirates, with a team consisting of Posner, Tomsic, Myers, and Mathews set in 92.
In the same heat of the men's 200 free relay, the Circle C "B" team consisting of Daniel Rohleder (16), Rob McFarland (16), Jerr Merritt (15), and Maverick Smalley (15) set a new 15-16 Boy's Natioal Age Group record with a time of 1:25.44.
The old mark of 1:25.72 was set by Swim Atlanta in 1984 — before any of the Circle C boys were born. That team was made up of Connolly, Croggan, Gjersten, and Giambalvo.
