CIF Section Champion Emma Davidson Verbally Commits to Cal
NEW COMMIT: The University of California Berkeley has added another verbal commitment to the Class of 2023, this one from Orange County’s Emma Davidson. Davidson has only just recently turned her focus to swimming, and already amassed an impressive list of accomplishments.
A Scholastic All-American and NISCA All-American, Davidson is a junior at Yorba Linda High School. Davidson moved from Seattle to California in 2013. She played both high school and club volleyball, until January 2017 when she put her focus on swimming, training full time with SoCal Aquatics.
Last summer, after just seven months of training with Coach Steve Pickell Davidson qualified for Summer Juniors in the 100 breaststroke. Both last year when she was a sophomore, and a few weeks ago, Davidson was the CIF Southern Section D3 champion in the 50 and 100 freestyle. Her freshman year Yorba Linda was a Division 1 school, and Davidson touched 11th in the 50 free.
Her best SCY times are:
- 50 Free 23.27
- 100 Free 50.56
- 200 Free 1:52.82
- 100 Breast 1:03.63
Davidson said of her decision,
“I could not be more excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of California Berkeley class of 2023!! A huge thank you to my family, coaches, and friends for their endless support. GO BEARS”
