Chloe Stinson Will Become a Tar Heel With 2025 Verbal to North Carolina

NEW COMMIT: US Open qualifier Chloe Stinson of Coto de Caza, California, will head to the east coast for college after verbally committing to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for Fall 2025.

She will join Lexie Ward in Chapel Hill as a member of the Tar Heels’ Class of 2029.

She told Swimming World:

“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill! First, I want to thank God for all the blessings He has given me. I would also like to thank my family, friends, and all the coaches who have helped me throughout this journey. GO TAR HEELS!!!”
Stinson, who trains year-round with Mission Viejo Nadadores, finished 11th in the 100m fly at Junior Nationals in a best time of 1:00.66. She placed 12th in that event at Carlsbad Sectionals in March after racing three events at Juniors West in December.

Her best times include:

  • 100 fly – 55.21
  • 50 free – 23.42
  • 100 free – 51.36
  • 100m fly – 1:00.66

Currently a junior at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, Stinson sprinted to 13th place in the 50 free at the 2023 CIF State Championships after taking 13th in the 100 fly as a freshman. She placed fifth in the 100 fly and seventh in the 50 free at the Southern Section meet, too.
