With the International Olympic Committee preparing to choose between Los Angeles and Paris as host for the 2024 Olympics sometime later this year, the LA 2024 bid committee has released a video tour of its proposed venues for the Games.
The video takes viewers through the four villages and standalone venues that the organizing committee plans would use for the Games. The swimming, diving and synchro events would take place in a new pool built on the campus of USC, while water polo and open water swimming would take place south of the city in Long Beach.

Both Rome and Budapest have pulled out of bidding for the 2024 Olympics, leaving LA and Paris as the only two candidates. LA previously hosted the Games in 1932 and 1984, while Paris hosted in 1900 and 1924.

Mike Healy looks cool, don’t know if I like the World Cup approach in travelling throughout the city. Also doesn’t mention pentathlon, so would you have to travel to different parks between events? Otherwise class presentation bid??

Shocking! How can the main athletics stadium not have a partial roof over the spectators? No Olympic stadium since the disastrous Atlanta 1996 stadium has been “bare” like this. Are spectators supposed to sit and fry in the sun? This isn’t 1950, world class modern sports stadiums at least have a partial roof/canopy that covers the stands. Further, why is there a big corporate block in the middle of the stands?? Let’s hope they significantly change the stadium design. Also, why is the aquatics center outdoors? Pretty terrible venues.
