ANN ARBOR, Michigan, October 3. FOLLOWING in the footsteps of her older sisters — junior Ali and freshman Gabby — Pointe Aquatics’ Catie DeLoof has verbally committed to swim for the University of Michigan beginning next fall.

DeLoof should make an immediate impact at Michigan in the sprint freestyle and backstroke events, as she currently owns times of 50.10 in the 100 free, 23.60 in the 50 free and 56.05 in the 100 back. She’s also posted some impressive long course times — 26.59 in the 50 free, 57.84 in the 100 free and 1:03.30 in the 100 back.

DeLoof attends Grosse Pointe South High School in Grosse Pointe, Mich., and is ranked sixth by Collegeswimming.com in Michigan’s 2015 recruiting class.
