Caroline Sheble Sends Verbal to NC State; Will Join Sister for 2021-22 Season
NEW COMMIT: NC State has picked up another verbal commitment for the fall of 2021 from North Chesterfield, Va. native Caroline Sheble. Her twin sister, Grace Sheble, announced her early verbal to the Wolfpack two weeks ago.
A talented butterflyer and IMer, Sheble does her club swimming with Nova of Virginia Aquatics and has already achieved the Olympic Trials cut in the 200m fly. She placed 15th in the 200m fly and 16th in the 400m IM at Junior Nationals this past summer after earning silver in the former at Virginia LCM Seniors. Last winter, she finaled in the 200 fly at Juniors East before going on to register five top-6 finishes at Virginia SCY Seniors.
A current junior at James River High School, Sheble is already a four-time Virginia 6A State Championship finalist. She placed fourth in the 200 IM and seventh in the 100 fly as a sophomore after taking second and fourth, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.
In SCY, her best times include:
- 100 fly – 54.43
- 200 fly – 1:57.88
- 200 IM – 2:00.75
- 400 IM – 4:14.14
- 200 back – 1:59.57
In LCM, her best times include:
- 100m fly – 1:02.19
- 200m fly – 2:14.36
- 200m IM – 2:20.37
- 400m IM – 4:53.57
- 200m back – 2:18.41
Sheble will be a huge addition to the Wolfpack’s lineup when she arrives in Raleigh as a member of the class of 2025. Even with just under two years of club swimming still to go, she would’ve scored in the B-final of the 200 fly and 400 IM as well as the C-final of the 100 fly and 200 IM at the 2019 ACC Championships – versatility that will be extremely beneficial for the defending conference champions.
