Carmel Boys Register NAG (13-14) Record in 400 Medley Relay

The Carmel Swim Club has a rich tradition of producing elite performers, and the pipeline continues to pump excellence. During a time trial on Saturday night, Carmel established a National Age Group record in the 13-14 classification in the 400-yard medley relay, thanks to the quartet of Carter Lancaster, Brandon Malicki, Emile Haig and Gregg Enoch.

The aforementioned foursome combined for a time of 3:24.49 to better the previous standard, set earlier this year by the Nation’s Capital Swim Club at 3:26.76.

Lancaster jumpstarted the relay with an opening backstroke split of 49.10 and was followed by Malicki delivering a split of 57.27 on the breaststroke leg. Haig handled the butterfly duties and came through with a split of 51.38, an effort that set the stage for Enoch to finish things off with a freestyle mark of 46.74.

Even more impressive that they did this completely racing themselves! Only one entry for the event.

That’s 2 NAG records out of Indiana in less than two weeks . Wondering if the 15-16 boys 400 free relay from a meet in Elkhart got ratified ??

Out of curiosity, is Carter Lancaster any relation to former Carmel swimming great Jason Lancaster? Possibly father/son?
