Carly Hart has committed to swim at Penn State as a member of the Class of 2021, according to her Twitter.
The Walsh Jesuit High School senior is a breaststroke specialist. Her best event is the 100, where she posted a 1:02.69 at the 2015 LE Ohio High School State Meet.
In the 200, Hart has been a 2:18.75. Last season she dropped over four seconds in that event. A probably third event will be the 200 IM, where Hart holds a lifetime best of 2:05.34, after dropping over two seconds last year.
At the 2016 Big 10 Championships, Hart would have finished as the first alternate in the 100 breaststroke and just outside scoring in the 200. She still has a year to train with her Firestone Akron Swim Team. If she continues on last season’s improvement trajectory, Hart will enter scoring range before she even heads to Pennsylvania.
Just yesterday Camryn Barry also announced her commitment to also be a Nittany Lion.
