Carlos Claverie Sweeps Breaststrokes With 200 Win

Louisville’s Carlos Claverie swept the breaststroke events as he topped the men’s 200-meter breast tonight at the Arena Pro Swim Series Mesa.
Claverie stopped the clock in 2:14.31 for the win after taking home the 100-meter breast last night.
Carl Mickelson snared second tonight with a time of 2:16.56, while Palo Alto’s BJ Johnson wound up third in 2:17.63.
SoFlo’s Jorge Murillo Valdes placed fourth in 2:17.73 with Carlos Mahecha earning fifth in 2:18.66.
Uldis Tazans (2:19.14) and Youssef El Kamash (2:20.38) claimed sixth and seventh, while Sean Mahoney drew a disqualification in the finale.
Mike Alexandrov claimed the B final in a time of 2:17.50. Trojan’s Julian Fletcher placed second in 2:18.77.
