Canadian National Junior Teamer Alexander Milanovich Verbally Commits to Tennessee for 2020

NEW COMMIT: Etobicoke, Ontario’s Alexander Milanovich has announced his verbal commitment to the University of Tennessee as a member of the class of 2024.

Milanovich does his club swimming with Etobicoke Swim Club under head coach Kevin Thorburn and most recently competed at the Ontario Spring Championships where he achieved a pair of lifetime bests. While representing Team Canada at the Junior Pan-Pac Championships last summer, he placed sixth in the 100m breast. He also represented his home country at the Youth Olympic Games in September where he earned bronze in the 50m breast behind current Vol Michael Houlie. Milanovich is currently the Canadian National Age Group record-holder in the the 50 SCM breast for 16-year-old boys.

He told Swimming World:

“Super excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University Of Tennessee! Thank you to my family and my friends for the support in making this decision. I couldn’t see myself being anywhere else! Go Vols”

In LCM, his best times include:

  • 50 breast – 27.87
  • 100 breast – 1:02.82
  • 200 breast – 2:27.27
  • 100 fly – 58.84
  • 200 IM – 2:12.96

In SCY, those times convert to:

  • 50 breast – 24.20
  • 100 breast – 54.79
  • 200 breast – 2:09.07
  • 100 fly – 51.74
  • 200 IM – 1:56.90

Milanovich will add his talents to a breaststroke group that includes Houlie, Jarel Dillard and Luke Massey when he arrives in Knoxville for the 2020-21 season.
