Read below for a full recap of the first night of action.
Horton opened the meet with a win in the men’s 400 free, posting a time of 3:49.54 to edge out fellow Olympian David McKeon, who came in second at 3:49.87. Third went to Elijah Winnington in 3:51.50.

Seebohm won again in the women’s 200 back, but she had to work hard on the last 50 to catch up with 19-year-old Sian Whitakker, who had a huge lead with 50 meters to go. But Seebohm, as she did on the way to a World title in the event in 2015, finished like a rocket on the last 50 with a 30.79 split, and she needed every bit of that to touch out Whittaker, 2:08.77 to 2:08.79.
15-year-old Kaylee McKeown finished third in 2:09.18. Those three times mark the three fastest so far in 2017.
