Cal junior Isabelle Stadden set a pool record in the 100-yard backstroke and senior Eloise Riley was a four-time winner as the Cal women’s swimming & diving team defeated Washington State 167-94 in a Pac-12 dual meet at Gibb Pool on Saturday morning.

Stadden, who won the bronze medal in the 100 back at the Phillips 66 National Championships last summer, finished the race in 53.90 – eclipsing the previous Gibb Pool record of 54.37 set last year by Utah’s Ema Broome. She also helped Cal set another pool record in the 400 freestyle relay as she teamed up with Riley, McKenna Stone and Ayla Spitz for a time of 3:21.92. That mark shattered the previous record 3:24.33 set by Utah last season.

Not only did Riley also swim the anchor leg on Cal’s winning 200 medley relay team that finished in a time of 1:41.59, she claimed victories in the 50 free (23.55) and 100 free (50.53). Riley also won the 100 free during the Bears’ dual meet victory over Utah on Wednesday.
