Cal Receives Verbal Commitment from Ema Rajic
NEW COMMITMENT: Ema Rajic, a rising senior at the University High School in Urbana, Illinois, has verbally committed to swim for the University of California, Berkeley starting in the fall of 2018. Rajic also swims for the Champaign County YMCA.
Rajic particularly excels in the breaststroke and IM events. Her best times in SCY are:
- 100 Breast 1:00.77
- 200 Breast 2:14.12
- 200 IM 2:00.23
- 400 IM 4:14.15
At the IHSA Girls State Championships in November, Rajic set two state records in the 200 IM (2:00.27) and the 100 breast (1:00.77). Most recently at the 2017 Phillips 66 National Championships, she finished 14th in the 50 breast (31.91), 18th in the 100 breast (1:09.62).
At the 2017 Pac-12 Championships Rajic would have scored points for the Golden Bears in all of her best events. If her breaststroke develops a bit further she could be an important relay piece for Cal.
Rajic joins Cassidy Bayer, Elise Garcia, and Alex Sumner in Cal’s class of 2022.
