Caitlin Clements of Magnolia High School in Texas has announced her verbal commitment to swim for the University of Missouri for the fall of 2017.
The freestyle all-star was the Texas 5A state champion in the 100-yard freestyle her sophomore year when she lowered the 5A record to a sizzling 50.39.
While Clements hosts some quick times in the 100 her strength lies in being a talented middle-distance swimmer rather than a sprinter.
Best times in yards:
- 50 Free — 23.63
- 100 Free — 50.39
- 200 Free –1:48.14
- 500 Free — 4:53.49
- 100 Back — 58.07
Clements will add to the depth of Mizzou’s freestyle program joining current juniors Rachel Hayden, Sharli Brady, Erin Metzger-Seymour, and Kira Zubar. Hayden, Brady, and Zubar are all returning members of Mizzou’s ninth place 800 freestyle relay from the 2016 SEC Championships, a relay that Clements could certainly add some depth to.
