Caeleb Dressel, Meghan Dressel Welcome Birth of Baby Boy
Olympic champion Caeleb Dressel and his wife Meghan Dressel announced the birth of their first child on Monday.
August Wilder Dressel was born Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024.
“Welcome to the world, August Wilder Dressel!” the couple posted on Instagram. “Our baby boy came bursting into our arms on Saturday morning after a very swift and powerful labor. Mom and Dad were in it together, and we had the intervention free birth that we had so hoped and prepared for. It was more raw, incredible and beautiful than we ever could have dreamed of, and brought us this perfect, healthy, chunky baby boy. God is so good! We are still at a loss for words over it all
“August, you have forever changed our world and our hearts. We love you so so much little man.”
The couple was married in 2021 on Valentine’s Day weekend in Florida.
Dressel won three individual Olympic gold medals in Tokyo, then took nearly a year away from the pool before returning at the U.S. National Championships in Indianapolis.
“I have always said that, since the first time I gave a talk – you gotta take a break. That is my main message to every age-group swimmer,” Dressel said at nationals. “I was that kid who took two months and did not think anything of it. I would go play soccer or football or run track. It’s healthy. It is hard to see that when you get higher up in the sport, but I needed it.”
He has returned in other meets since and with it being an Olympic year, 2024 could be an even bigger year for the Dressel family – but nothing like welcoming August into the world.
The child is called August but you finish with welcoming Austin into the world? Jeez,Swimming World, you get more sloppy every day!
It’s Austin up in bold at the beginning of the article too. Nobody proofreads anymore. Very sloppy!
Congratulations Welcome to the world Austin!
