After winning medals at the 2019 FINA World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea, USA stars Caeleb Dressel and Hali Flickinger were not on the heat sheets for day one of the 2019 Phillips 66 US National Championships at Stanford.

According to the psych sheets, Dressel was entered as the top seed in the 100 freestyle for Wednesday’s session, while Flickinger was the top seed in the 200 butterfly. Their names are not on today’s heat sheets.

USA Swimming confirmed Dressel is out the first day because of his flight back from Asia after worlds. He is scheduled to swim the rest of the meet. Flickinger’s status for the rest of the meet is yet to be confirmed.

Worlds swimmers Regan Smith and Katie Drabot were still on the heat sheets for Day 1.

It’s okay, he wasn’t missed.

Ger.. He wasn’t missed? You must not be American or just being funny. He represents among the best in character and class in swimming. Michael Phelps showed sportsmanship and class by congratulating Caeleb for breaking his record. Two great legends fun to watch.

Jetlag can hit you hard. Especially coming from Asia, you can gain a day.
