Caeleb Dressel and Gregg Troy Speak about Lead-up to Olympic Trials
With Olympic Trials less than eight weeks remaining until the start of the U.S. Olympic Trials, Florida held a press conference where NCAA co-swimmer of the year Caeleb Dressel and 2012 U.S. men’s Olympic team head coach Gregg Troy spoke to the media.
Dressel, who set American records in winning the 50 and 100 free at the NCAA championships in March, discussed how he has bounced back in training following his performance in Atlanta, what has changed in his life since NCAAs and how it has been watching his teammates qualify for the Olympic teams of their respective countries. He also gave surprising answers when asked who he considered his athletic role models.
Troy explained his thoughts on Dressel as a swimmer and how he has grown over the past two seasons at Florida. He also shared his thoughts on Florida alum and two-time Olympic medalist Elizabeth Beisel, seeking to bounce back from a rough World Championships last summer, and he explained what he has learned from the last Olympic cycle and applied to this one.
