Caaleb Dressel busted out a 21.85 to claim the top spot in the men’s 50-meter free prelim at USA Nationals this morning. Dressel vaulted seven spots and dropped a half second en route to taking the number-one seed heading into tonight’s finals. Josh Schneider had a slight add to take second in 22.10. Cullen Jones finished immediately after Schneider with a 22.11. Michael Chadwick (22.25) and Wyatt Ubellacker (22.27) took fourth and fifth, respectively. William Copeland‘s 22.46 earned him sixth, while Michael Trice and Kyle Darmody tied for the final two spots in 22.52.
Tonight’s B Final includes John Murray (22.54), Roland Schoeman (22.55), Daniel Kanorr (22.58), BJ Hornikel (22.59), Erik Risolvato (22.65), David Williams (22.68), Ryan Held (22.70), and Griffin Schumacher (22.70).
