The University of Houston added USA Swimming Scholastic All-American Becca Cox to a Class of 2021 recruiting haul. Cox is from Batavia, IL where she swims for Academy Bullets Swim Club.
Cox shared,
“I have no doubt that the University of Houston is the best place for me! I felt an immediate connection with Coach Ryan and Coach Hannah, and I strongly feel that I share common ideas and goals for my college career with them. The University of Houston has so many opportunities academically and athletically. I can’t wait to be a part of this growing program as massive improvements are made every year! GO COOGS!!!”
Her top yards times are:
- 50 Fly 25.27
- 100 Fly 55.26
- 200 Fly 2:04.80
She also has recent long course success. At NCSA Junior Nationals this summer Cox was a finalist in the 50 and 100 butterfly, placing eighth in both events.
Cox will arrive in Houston in the fall along with Katie Higgins, Sam Medlin, Victoria Tillman, Sidney Trimm, Mykenzie Leehy and Montana Lloyd. Cox’s best 100 butterfly time, which is nearly identical to Tillman’s, would have made her an A finalist at the American Athletic Conference Championship last year.
