Burbank’s Rebecca Yoo Verbally Commits to Rowan University

NEW COMMIT: Rowan University in New Jersey has earned a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2019 from Burbank, Calif. native Rebecca Yoo.
Yoo swims year-round with the BLAST Sharks and most recently achieved a pair of lifetime bests at the Lakewood Senior Invite last month. She concluded her summer long course season with a 14th-place finish in the 100m breast at the Junior Olympics after racing both breaststroke events at the June Age Group Championships. Also competing for Palisades High School, Yoo finished fifth in the 100 breast and eighth in the 100 fly at the CIF-Los Angeles Section meet during her junior season.
She told Swimming World:
“Beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim at Rowan University! thankful for my coaches, friends and family for supporting me! so excited to join the Prof family!”
Her best times include:
- 100 breast – 1:10.64
- 200 breast – 2:36.25
- 200 IM – 2:16.74
- 100 back – 1:06.75
When she suits up for the Profs as a member of the class of 2023, Yoo will make a big impact in their breaststroke/IM groups. She would’ve scored in the B-final of the 200 IM and 100 breast at the 2018 Metropolitan Championships where Rowan is the defending team champion.
