Buffalo Sets Two Records as Akron Leads after Night Two of Mid-American Conference
Akron extended its lead after Thursday’s finals of the 2017 Women’s Mid-American Conference Championships. They broke one record on the night and Buffalo broke two as those teams lead the way through two days in Oxford.

Akron got its first individual win of the meet with Maddie Myers’ meet record in the 200 IM. The sophomore had a 1:56.92, under her 1:58.98 from last year. Her backstroke split of 27.97 was what separated her from the field as nobody else in the race split under 30 on that leg. Buffalo’s Sarah Baxter was second with a 1:59.23 and Akron’s Paloma Marrero was third at 1:59.53.
