Buckeyes Collect Class of 2026 Verbal from Maryland State Champion Everett Oehler
NEW COMMIT: The Ohio State University has received a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2022 from Junior National qualifier Everett Oehler of Rockville, Md.
He will join Southlake, Texas native Mason Edmund as a member of the Buckeyes’ Class of 2026.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I chose The Ohio State University for the diverse academic opportunities as well as the incredible opportunities the university will offer me as an athlete. The welcoming and motivating team culture also stood out to me on my college search. I cannot wait to be a buckeye!”
A talented sprint butterflyer and freestyler, Oehler trains year-round with Rockville Montgomery Swim Club and recorded five best times at the 18&U Winter Championships – Potomac Valley last month. In Summer 2019, he earned 100% best times at Potomac Valley LCM Seniors.
His best times include:
- 100 free – 46.24
- 200 free – 1:40.32
- 100 fly – 48.71
- 200 fly – 1:48.15
Currently a junior at Richard Montgomery High School, Oehler collected gold in the 200 free and bronze in the 100 free as a sophomore at the Maryland 3A/4A State Championships. He also finished third in the 200 free and seventh in the 100 fly at the 2020 Washington Metropolitan Prep School League Championships.
Under head coach Bill Dorenkott, Ohio State finished second at the 2020 Big Ten Championships behind Michigan.
