AUSTIN – Brazil’s Bruno Fratus was stressed out on the finish of the 50-meter free, but still managed to get his hand to the wall first at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Austin.
Fratus felt like he had a bit too much of a glide into the finish.
Fratus is also looking forward to the Pan American Games and the World Championships.

Twenty-one point nine the third Friday in January?
That ought to make Messrs. Manadou/Bousquet sit up and take notice (not to mention his countryman, the world record-holder and defending World Champion).
Maybe Auburn coach Brett Hawke really knows a thing or three about coaching sprinters (Fratus is training there).
And what about Farida Osman’s 24.9 one-Lapper? Now there’s a pleasant surprise for Terri Mc. Middle Eastern/Egyptian record and close to a half-second drop from her old standards of 25-low. She gets down to say 24-mid by Kazan and she could final there.
Look out, Simone, you’ve got company.
