Bruno Fratus has turned his career toward coaching.

The Brazilian Olympian has taken over as head coach of Coral Springs Swim Club, the same club that he trained with in Florida while training to make the Olympic team and will coach alongside his wife, Michelle Lenhardt, who is the national team coach at the club.

Fratus, who won the bronze medal in the 50 freestyle at the Tokyo Olympics, made the announcement on Instagram.

“I’m proud to announce that, starting in August 2024, I will be serving as the Head Coach of @coralspringsswimming —the very club that supported me through some of the best years of my athletic career and served as my home in the pursuit of Olympic immortality,” Bruno Fratus wrote. “Personally, my approach to coaching will be rooted in the same principles that have guided my own career—discipline, perseverance, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence.”

Bruno Fratus was quick to relay the club’s mission and the direction he plans to take it.

“At Coral Springs Swim Club, we are passionate about our mission to develop local talent. We are committed to coaching young athletes to not only become faster swimmers but also to grow into sharp competitors with a strong foundation in sportsmanship, work ethic, and dedication to Olympic values,” Bruno Fratus wrote. “Our goal is to create an environment where swimmers are not only prepared for competition but also equipped with the values that will guide them throughout their lives.

“CSSC is poised to become a powerhouse of swimming talent, where athletes excel both in and out of the pool.
