Brooke Zeiger Doubles On Night Three Of Buffalo Sectionals

BUFFALO, New York, March 29. BROOKE Zeiger of Bluefish Swim Club Team won two individual events on the third night of the Speedo Buffalo Sectionals, bringing the future Minnesota swimmer up to five total wins for the meet.

Zeiger won the 200m breast with a 2:36.59. Makayla Sargent of Victor Swim Club touched in 2:37.06 for second. Kendall Crawford of the University of Denver Hilltoppers took third with a personal best 2:40.84.

Zeiger’s second win of the night came in the 400m free, which she won with a time of 4:18.85. PACK Swim Team’s Lindsay Stone touched just behind her at 4:18.87 for second and a new personal best. Bryanna Cameron of SOLO Aquatics clocked in with a personal best of 4:26.35 for third.

The Bluefish Swim Club women (Brooke Zeiger, Haly Gula, Michaela Degnan, Lilly Vivado) started off the night with a 2:02.18 to win the 200m medley relay. Upper St. Clair Swim Team (Lindsay Choate, Maddie Yoos, Loeva Palu-Benson, Victoria Shaffer) touched in 2:04.53, tying for second with North Shore Swim Club (Anna Haywood, Ansley Baker, Emily Borger, Felicia Lombardi).

The Bluefish Swim Club men (Connor Green, Erik Gudmunson, Samuel Spurrell, Owen Wright) won the 200m medley relay as well, with a time of 1:47.03. Upper St. Clair Swim Team (Ryan Dudzinski, Braedon Wong, Fynn Minuth, Patrick Lersch) clocked in at 1:49.54 for second. Liverpool Jets Swim Club (Daniel Burke, Garrett Clarke, Troy Miller, Nicholas Burdo) placed third with a time of 1:49.95.

Allison Goldblatt of The Fish won the 200m fly with a time of 2:18.13. Her teammate Caroline Heilbrun hit the wall second in 2:18.41 for a new personal best. Wingate University’s Sofia Petrenko posted a 2:18.69 for third.

Marko Blazevski of Wingate University won the men’s 200m fly with a time of 2:03.47. Fourteen-year old Maxwell Miranda from Bluefish Swim Club took second with a personal best 2:03.91. Ian Russiello of The Fish claimed third with a personal best 2:05.74.

Anastasia Bogdanovski of Johns Hopkins University won the women’s 50m free with a 26.57. Greater Pittsburgh Aquatic Club’s Heidi Miller touched second in 26.61. Mary Smith of the PACK Swim Team finished third with a time of 26.73.

Union College’s Benjamin Nadareski won the men’s 50m free with a 23.74. Edward Zawatski of CYC Rally Aquatic Club went 24.05 for second. Ryan Harty of Greenwood Memorial Swim Club clocked in at 24.52 for third.

Garrett Clarke of the Liverpool Jets won the men’s 200m breast with a 2:23.38. Damjan Petrovski of Wingate University took second with a 2:23.51. Luke Otto of STAR Swimming claimed third with a personal best 2:24.47.

Greenwood Memorial Swim Club’s Kaitlin Harty won the women’s 100m back with a time of 1:02.83. Marcella Maguire of Ridgefield Aquatic Club posted a personal best 1:04.02 for second. Nicole Aarts touched in 1:04.40 for third and a new personal best.

Cornell University’s Dylan Sali won the men’s 100m back with a 56.30. Ryan Harty clocked in at 56.64 for second. Bluefish Swim Club’s Connor Green, a future Cal swimmer, finished third with a 57.06.

PACK Swim Team’s PJ Ransford, a Michigan recruit, dipped under the 4-minute mark for the first time to win the men’s 400m free with a time of 3:59.64. Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics’ John Nunez posted a 4:04.60 for second. Daniel Golczewski of Arena Club Aquatics hit the wall in 4:04.88 for third and a new personal best.

The University of Denver Hilltoppers women (Lauren Moden, Haley Rowley, Kaylee Gassen, Abigail Kochevar) won the women’s 400m free relay with a time of 3:58.29. PACK Swim Team (Lindsay Stone, Natalie Zaravella, Steph Andrews, Mary Smith) touched second at 4:03.07. Greater Pittsburgh Aquatic Club (Peyton Kondis, Stephanie Sipple, Charis Larson, Heidi Miller) posted a 4:04.18 for third.

Bluefish Swim Club (Maxwell Miranda, Nicholas Brown, Owen Wright, Connor Green) won the men’s 400m free relay with a 3:34.20. Upper St. Clair Swim Team (Fynn Minuth, Patrick Lersch, Nathan Novak, Ryan Dudzinski) put up a 3:38.93 for second. Arena Club Aquatics (Daniel Golczewski, David Gross, Kyle Paxton, Brian Wilson) took third with a 3:39.67.

With just one day of swimming left, Bluefish Swim Club lead on overall points (948) followed by The Fish (422) and Upper St. Clair Swim Club (296).
