Brooke Morgan Commits to In-State UNC Wilmington with Several A-Final Worthy Times
NEW COMMIT: The University of North Carolina, Wilmington has landed a big commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from in-state sprinter Brooke Morgan of Raleigh, N.C.
She will join Morgan Kondratick, Peyton Wilson, Molly Braun, Sarah Rogillio, and Reece Alexander and Katie Knorr as a member of the Seahawks’ class of 2025 under newly-appointed head coach Bobby Guntoro.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“Proud and excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at UNCW! BIG thanks to every coach, family, and friend that helped me get here #wingsup”
Morgan, who does her club swimming with the TAC Titans, most recently competed at the TAC Blizzard Blitz where she earned four best times. She posted a pair of top-10 finishes at Cary Sectionals back in March and secured bronze in the 100m free at North Carolina LCM Seniors in Summer 2019.
Morgan graduated from high school in 2019, and originally committed to East Carolina. When the Pirates cut their program, she committed to West Virginia before ultimately choosing UNCW.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 23.18
- 100 free – 49.83
- 200 free – 1:49.97
- 100 back – 56.67
- 100 fly – 55.82
Also competing for Leesville Road High School, Morgan is a four-time individual North Carolina 4A State Championship finalist. She finished sixth in both the 50 and 100 free as a senior while taking 13th in those races during her junior season.
Morgan will make a huge impact for the Seahawks as she would’ve ranked first on the team last year in the 100 fly, second in the 50/100/200 free, and third in the 100 back. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly as well as the B-final of the 100 back and 200 free at the 2020 CAA Championships.
