Brittany Wilkerson, Virginia State Champion, Signs With Marshall

Brittany Wilkerson has signed a National Letter of Intent with Marshall University, Head Swimming & Diving Coach, Bill Tramel announced today.
Wilkerson is the 2014 Virginia High School 5A State Champion in the 200 Freestyle. She was runner up in 2015. She competes for Poseidon Swimming out of Richmond, VA and is coached by Ted Sallade.
“We are so excited to bring another high school state champion to Marshall University,” Coach Tramel said Wednesday. “Our goal is to build a champion program. To do that, you need champions athletes. Brittany is the third High School Champion from the state of Virginia that we have signed in two years.”
Wilkerson will be a 2015 graduate of Atlee High School in Mechanicsville, VA. She is a member of the National Honor Society and will major in Exercise Science at Marshall University.
Wilkerson’s top times include:
200 FREE – 1:52.91
500 FREE – 5:01.59
1650 FREE – 17:32.46
“I chose Marshall University because it was a great fit for me, both academically and athletically,” Wilkerson said. “The team and coaching staff made me feel like a part of the team and right at home.”
Wilkerson is the 7th member of the class of 2019.
