Brittany Aoyama Wins Mountain West Conference Swimmer of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS – Boise State sophomore Brittany Aoyama has been named Mountain West Swimmer of the Week, while Colorado State junior Ariana Milone has earned MW Women’s Diver of the Week honors for competition completed through Sunday, February 1. It is the second MW weekly honor for Aoyama this season and the fifth in her career. For Milone, it is the second weekly accolade this season and the fifth of her career.
WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: BRITTANY AOYAMA, BOISE STATE
• Led the Broncos to a 163-97 win over Nevada on January 31 to close out the regular season.
• Won two individual events and two relays.
• Set a Boise West Family YMCA pool record with the winning 50-yard freestyle time of 23.21, while posting a BSU top-seven time of 54.70 in the 100-yard butterfly for the victory.
• Swam a leg of the winning 400-yard medley relay (3:47.65) and the victorious 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:34.52.
• Both relay times rank among the top-seven in Boise State history.
WOMEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: ARIANA MILONE, COLORADO STATE
• Won both springboard events as the Rams defeated Northern Colorado 188-110 on January 28 in Fort Collins.
• Set a CSU record off the 3-meter board with a 329.03 and scored a 280.73 on the 1-meter board.
• Competed in both events at the Air Force Diving Invitational in Colorado Springs on January 30 and 31.
• Posted a 274.35 in the 1-meter preliminaries and finished fourth in the finals with a 273.30.
• Scored a 308.40 to finish fifth in the 3-meter finals after finishing the preliminaries in first place with a 304.65.
• All six scores were NCAA Zone qualifying marks.
