British Trials, Day 6 Finals: Amelie Blocksidge Completes Distance Double
The future of women’s distance swimming in Britain appears to be in safe hands after 14-year-old Amelie Blocksidge added the 800 free title to her 1500 gold.
The City of Salford swimmer led throughout to finish in 8:32.61, a British junior record, ahead of Fleur Lewis (8:36.41) and Michaella Glenister (8:43.00).
Blocksidge, who turns 15 on Tuesday, leaves the Aquatics Centre with 800 and 1500 free gold as well as 400 silver.
