British Trials, Day 3 Finals: Anna Hopkin Surges Into Paris With 50 Free Gold
Anna Hopkin booked a trip to her second Olympics with a 24.53 victory in the 50 free at the British trials in London.
Hopkin finished 0.12 inside the cut of 24.65 to make the team, three years after anchoring the mixed medley relay quartet to gold in Tokyo.
Eva Okaro, the 2021 European junior bronze medallist, made her first journey inside 25 in 24.96 with Isabella Hindley third in 25.25.
Hopkin, coached by Mel Marshall in Loughborough, said:
“I’m happy with that.
“I’ve been a little bit quicker so far this season but you know when you’ve got the pressure of a time to get it adds another dimension to it so I’m just really happy that I could deliver a good time when it mattered.”
