Brennan Cheney of Crow Canyon Country Club Sharks Verbally Commits to Georgia’s Class of 2025
NEW COMMIT: Danville, Calif. native Brennan Cheney has announced his verbal commitment to the University of Georgia beginning in the fall of 2021.
He will join Jackson Bates, Sam Parker, Mitchell Norton, Henré Louw, Zach Kohm and Ryan Wylie as a member of the Bulldogs’ class of 2025.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I’m very excited to announce my verbal commitment to fulfill my lifelong dream of swimming and studying at the University of Georgia. Thank you to my family, coaches and friends for helping me achieve my dream. Glory goes to God. Go Dawgs!”
Cheney does his club swimming with the Crow Canyon Country Club Sharks and most recently earned a pair of best times at Carlsbad Speedo Sectionals and placed eighth in the 50 free at Far Westerns in 2019. Last summer, he notched six lifetime bests at Santa Clarita Speedo Sectionals before going on to earn silver in the 50m free and bronze in the 100m free at Far Westerns.
His best times include:
- 50 free – 21.70
- 100 free – 47.59
- 200 free – 1:42.52
- 100 back – 54.39
- 100 fly – 51.15
A current junior at San Ramon Valley High School, Cheney finished 16th in both the 100 fly and 200 free at the 2019 CIF North Coast Section Championships. He has made big improvements over the past two years, dropping two seconds in the 50 free, three in the 100 free/100 back, four in the 100 fly, and six in the 200 free.
