Brendan McHugh, US Open Record Holder, Shows Off Some Sprint Work – Video
By Nelson Helm, Swimming World College Intern
Brendan McHugh, who trains at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va., put on a bit of a show off the blocks while at one of the Oklahoma City Pro-Ams last month.
The first video below is of McHugh doing a broken 100 with 10 seconds rest at each 25. The second video is a 75 straight. Both these videos were taken before McHugh swam at the Oklahoma City Pro-Am.
At the swim meet, McHugh placed second behind fellow professional Cody Miller in the 50, 100 and 200 breaststrokes. In the 50 breaststroke, McHugh torched prelims going 23.91. Both Miller and McHugh would cruise again at night with Miller touching the wall first (23.61 to 23.66). McHugh would go on to place second behind Miller in the 100 (51.68) and 200 (1:51.84) events as well.
