AUSTIN, Texas, August 21. MULTIPLE-time Olympic medalist Brendan Hansen has accepted a position as the General Manager of Aquatics Operations for the Austin Aquatics and Sports Academy (AASA), as well as the head coach position at Austin Swim Club in Texas, it was announced today.

The AASA hopes to create a top-notch training environment for elite swimmers, and will house an outdoor 50-meter, eight lane competition pool and an athletic training facility. Austin Swim Club and Central Texas Water Polo are the two teams currently part of AASA’s programs, and Hansen will take the helm as head coach of the swim program.

Hansen won six medals (three gold, one silver and two bronze) over the course of three Olympics — 2004, 2008 and 2012 — and set a handful of world records in the breaststroke events during his career. He won more than a dozen NCAA titles during his collegiate career at the University of Texas.
